Sunday in the Park

Had a lovely time at Flora Expo Park yesterday, Sunday the 2nd!  Nice cool temperature with soothing breezes...  Live music...  And even the Annual Flora International Award Expo is in full swing...  Juju and i was having a lot of fun, we must have spent almost 6 hrs there...  A really nice way to end the week!
Enjoying the lively Blooms.

Me and a friend!

Monster High Doll, Jinafire Long, was Juju's tag along doll for the day.

So much beauty!  Some of the prettiest and most amazing arrangements on display
at the annual Flora International Award Exposition.

And of course, we stopped by St Christopher's Church to pay respects and light candles.

We were even treated to our first XMas tree sighting...
this giant tree is on display now at the Flora Expo Park.

The Week In Review!

This was a truly just a SO-SO week for me.... nothing too exciting, nothing too dramatic happened, and best of all, not sooo much drama.... well, if pay attention to my Half Brother's drama - then there is... but I choose to Ignore it... so there!!!

Johnny was going to come up this week , and I was looking forward to it, as we would have gone to see the FLORA EXPO for the day... it did not happen much to my disappointment... maybe the end of the month, instead..... Hopefully.... but I did get to check out, from the outside looking in, a few of the installations a block away from the church I go to.... not to mention by the river where I run, what I could see always beckon for me to come in already... LOL...
So most of the week was spent working.... tidying up as I have to take that once a month trip again tomorrow.... With the lunch and dinner breaks spent at Jewel's home: helping out, playing with Jewel, and giving Lyn a bit of a break from taking care of her.... LOL.... such a biiiig responsibility.... really not for the faint hearted..... Of course, kids are Great when they are awake and playful... or just been fed.... but, Boy-Oh-Boy, when they are Hungry... or just pooped... or can't get their groove sleeping - totally a different matter..... hahahahaha I gotta hand it to the FULL TIME Moms who can truly take in the Bad with the Good....The weather's been off and on... so running is a trying thing - was only able to run by the river a couple of times this week.... still, thankful there is always the Gym.... and of course, Blogging.... truly a stress reliever.....

Hope you all had a Great Week.... and are enjoying your weekends.... Remember: a little over a month left till XMas.....the XMas shopping Nightmare begins..... be sure to get all that XMas shopping done early!!!! On that note, I leave you with my newest Bearbricks: Sally & Jack from Tim Burton's 1993 film, "A Nightmare Before XMas".

Flora Expo Opens In Cloudy Rainy Taipei

Last nite, so many of us here in Taipei were soooo looking forward to watching the fireworks to officially welcome the opening of the 2010 Taipei Flora Exhibition - truly one of the most anticipated BIG EVENTS this year.... lots of $$$ was spent for this fireworks of fireworks display to be.... Sadly, the weather did not cooperate... it was a rainy, cloudy nite.... so for the most part all that glitter and shimmering fireworks went off hidden behind the clouds....

Good thing we live by the Dajia river park where it should have been very visible...we did not have to travel far, deal with the traffic and parking, as most revelers did.... wish they could have postponed for another nite, a much clearer one but Oh Well....

Here's an excerpt I found from last nite's fireworks display- the clearest one so far.... Note: a short one as this was probably the most visible one the lenser got...

Yesterday also marked, Lyn's Birthday... so we had a little cake for her - a few friends stopped by and Jewel got out and came to visit our home for the very first time....

shaking off my cold... and everything else...

I came home from Manila last Monday, not only did it seem like I brought the typhoon with me from manila, but I also came home with a cold in tow.... almost a whole week later and am still having dry coughs, and sniffling - though at least, the body aches have waned.... so am hoping it is only just a matter of time before am fully recovered.....

So I have not been doing much except catching up as much as i can with work.... emails.... and various projects.... dealing with much more family troubles -- which I feel, is really adding to my stress and my blood pressure rising.... -- hence, another reason why it is taking me longer to recover from this cold of mine... I really cannot stand any kind of Dramas, more so, Family Dramas....

So with this cold of mine, I also am trying to limit my contact with baby Jewel.... I mean, we go see here everyday... cook and eat at their home but am always wearing a face mask and I try not to touch her as much.... am in constant fear of infecting her and passing on my cold to her..... She has gotten a bit bigger, of course... and much like any babies I have been around with - she has her days or non-stop crying.. and days of quietness.... one thing is for sure, she sure loves the feeling of being held all the time.... no matter what position, it seems, as long as she is held - she sleeps in deep slumber....

Wanted to end the week by attending mass... listening to church music.... and the peace and quiet that comes with praying.... and lighting up candles for my Love Ones.... all of these are stress relievers for me, too.... and though am not soooo Religious, these aspects of the church i do enjoy and look forward to....
The only added bonus for the week came while I was walking after church to get back home... I came across a couple of the Pavilions that are getting their finishing looks for the Grand Opening of the 20101 Taipei International FLora Exhibition.... opening in 13 DAYS!!! So many people were hard at work doing all their best to finish up the different exhibitions.... this time around I got to see parts of the Australian, Thailand & Korean areas... all from the outside, looking in, mind you.... it will be an exciting time here in Taipei, am sure when the Expo finally opens.... it will run through the middle of April 2011 - so plenty of time to book your flights to come and see the Floral Wonders.....
