Swimming with Juju is getting a lot more fun now...  Little by little, she is getting braver and braver...  The last few times, am able to get her to swim with her paddle board in the longer pool - where people really do laps... Longer and deeper...

We compromise, 10 laps - a snack break  - then another 10 laps.  One way I swim back float pulling her...  the  other way she kicks with the board on her own...  10Xs laps, then break to eat her cookies n drink then 10 laps again!!!  

She did not complain at all or pretend to be scared and ask me to hold her...  So i kept telling her she is doing good - to which she replies: "I am Supergirl".  

In the last few laps though she was getting slower.  So I was telling her: "OMG, what happened Supergirl, why are you getting slow?"  She stopped kicking, looked me straight in the eyes and said without blinking: " Am just a little girl, you know!"  Then continued on with her lap.

I laughed so much...  I was so elated with our swim, i forgot that she IS just a little girl!😜😜😜

Storm's A Coming..

Yep that time of the year again where we have more Rain than we care to have..  Yes it is Summer time and way too hot - so we pray for some rain to cool off a bit - but typhoon???

It is worrisome especially for family and friends in The Philippines...  News reports of so much flooding, even in the main cities filled the news on TV, in the papers, on the Net, and yes, Facebook too!  It really is quite scary..  Chest High flooding  in some cases!!!   One can only hope it will let up soon...

In Taiwan, it started pouring yesterday...  Not too heavy but non - stop..  All night long...  Today it shaped up to be a really Wet Wednesday...  Typhoon is supposed to intensify  in the afternoon hours that

Schools and some work places are close...  Even the Gate to Dajia Riverside is now carefully guarded - people are advised to get their vehicles out - then,the  gates will be closed, as they are during typhoon days...

Still manage to go for a dip at San Ming Pool with Juju last nite though...  Having it close by, we were able to make it there fine for a few hours...  Of course, it was not too crowded..  Only a few peeps braved the rain, and sadly for Juju, not too many kids to play with.

Wonder where we will make it to today???

Happy 1st of August!!!

Could it be that a whole month and a day had passed since i last posted an entry???  Where has the time gone...  This is not like me at all....  Well,  i promise myself, i will try harder... get back to blogging...  Get the writing juices flowing, expand the mind and  catch up even, with all that's gone on...  

Started off the day right...  Put in my time at work, then rewarded my self by taking Juju to the pool nearby to welcome August refreshingly so... 

Just had to include the above quote posted by an FB friend..  I think it is both beautiful and So True!

Monday Blues

This week's Monday Blues is Courtesy of a day st QuanXin SPA...

Such a Great place, I almost did not want to leave anymore.... Everything I could ask for was there: Nice size Gym with state of the art machines... Swimming Pool.. Water Spa... Dry and Wet Saunas.,,, Hot n Cold Jacuzzis... Yoga and Cardio classes.... A super nice Lounge complete with newspapers, magazines, and a selection of beverages... Nice and friendly staff... And even a Cafe of their own!

Truly one need not leave the place.. Just enjoy all the amenities and call it a SPA Getaway... :)

Kaohsiung Getaway

For the just passed Moon Festival, had the pleasure of going down Kaohsiung for a relaxing - as relaxing as it could get anyway - few days at The Wus...

While it was storming in Taipei, it was nice and breezy in Kaohsiung... Nice enough that we spent 2 days in a row swimming and hanging out by the pool... Thanks Liya Wu for the SPA tixs! And at night, a nice run or walk around the city...

For the most part, it was just the four of us: Liya, David, Johnny and I... Todd is away now for a year's mandatory stint with the military... And Juju and her parents could not go down south with us... Still, it was nice, quiet and relaxing... Not forgetting to mention, though this year we did not have the obligatory BBQ - an abundance of food was still Wu Mama and Wu Papa and  devoured by all....  mooncakes included!!!

Of course, no trip is complete without visiting Dream Mall... For the Holidays, many activities were going on that we got to enjoy.

Even got to see the beautiful Moon that is being celebrated on the night of the 30th...

1st of September

I cannot even ask for a nicer start of the new month.. A day filled with water fun, good food (Tonkatsu!), great friends, and even a fashion show!!!

Started off the morning with an early swim, with The Wu Bois, at San Ming Pool - just a 10 minute walk from the house... Quite refreshing to be in the pool as I did not get to do so much, this summertime..... Just the right amount of people for a Saturday and the water temperature - refreshingly good...

 

Then we all got ready to have a quick lunch at SUBWAY, Song Shan Aiport and see David off, for another trip....  hung out there for a good couple of hours....  nice and cool as their air conditioning has got to be the BEST in Taipei!!!

 

Then I had to ruch back home and change again as I am to meet the gals for dinner and a COACH FASHION SHOW....   and though I thought I was already nicely dressed, it will just not do, as I have sweated so much already from just walkinga few blocks to catch my bus....  so home I went for another quick shower and a change... Perfect as Sue also happend to be in my neighborhood so she just picked me up....  then we got Juliana and Cecilia and we headed to the Mitsukoshi Areas for a quick bite before the show....

Dinner was good.... Perfect choice as I have not had TONKATSU in a while.....  the resto is quite nice and the food - good and filling....  how can you complain, all you can eat Salad, (Sticky) Rice and Soup.... all of it - YUMMY!!!

The we stopped off COACH's shop in A9, as Sue had to pick up this year's Limited Edition bag...  she gets first dibs as she is one of COACH Taiwan's VIP clients...   so as Juliana and Cecilia....  and this is why they also get invited to the PREVIEW FASHION SHOW they put on once a year....   and am LUCKY enough to have been invited for the 2nd year in a row.....

 

COACH Men's and Women's Catalogs were handed out to all guests.... and a few LUCKY VIP ones were given this commemorative BAG TAG...  the design and pattern is actually that of used for the Men's Fall/Winter Collection...

Then the Fashion Show commenced as beautiful and hansome models comes strutting down the runway carrying COACH's Brand New Bag Collection....   wowing the crowds enough that right after the show, they shopped for the key pieces.....  it was infectious, but yes, I held out....   as much as I like the design for the new Men's line, am not quite thrilled with the colors....

Ending the nite with COLDSTONE ICE CREAM - JUST PERFECT!!!!

Fresh from his triumphant stint at the London 2012 Olympics, where he became the most decorated Olympian of all time - 22 Medals Total! - Swimmer Michael Phelps joins the likes of Bono, Sean Connery, Angelina Jolie, etc in endorsing the French Luxury Brand, Louis Vuitton....

 27-year-old Michael Phelps was shot by celebrated fashion and portrait photographer Annie Leibovtiz in a bath tub - swimming trunks and goggles, of course! Strewn at his sideis  a bath towel and Louis Vuitton tote.

2nd image has Mr. Phelps chatting to Larissa Latynina, the former Soviet gymnast who, before he - no pun intented - lapped her, was the most decorated Olympian with 18 medals.

Ahhhhhh the JOYS of Youth!

Had a nice time of it yesterday watching kids slip and slide away at the DAHU PAR Pool.... a FAVE POOL of mine with an OLYMPIC sized pool to do laps in, an indoors pool for those who do not want to tan, Sauna, Steam and Water Massage areas for relaxation, and of course, a KIDDIE THEME water park....

Yesterday was a gloomy day... even rained alot - as it has been the last few days... with nothing else better to do, and NO SUN to burn the skin - decided to go for a dip at DAHU park... just over the bridge from where we live... it was just what I needed... refreshing waters, with hardly anyone at the pool - almost like having the Olympic sized pool to ourselves.... and quite enjoyed the Water Massage - been soooo long since I was here last....

The added bonus was watching the kiddies get sooooooo excited taking turns sliding down the water slide... and over and over they went doing so.... "Small simple pleasures, giant smiles sheer joy!"

Beach Holiday After All!!!

Did not think I would see the OCEAN at all this SUMMER... mostly because am not interested in getting a SUNBURN like I do each and every year.... But yesterday, David invited me to trek a couple of hours outside Taipei, for a late afternoon/evening swim in the OCEAN -- the OCEAN, No SUN, a BREAK FROM WORK - AM THERE!!!

Place is LONGDONG Ocean Park - a HAVEN for SNORKELERS && SCUBA DIVERS.... but need not go through those extremes - simply put on your GOGGLES and DIVE IN - lots of FISH IN THE OCEAN - REALLY!!!
