16 Expressions

Came across a tidbit about an upcoming book by Celebrity photographer, Yu Tsai, called 16 Expressions...  One Subject/16 Expressions...   so far have seen shots of James Franco, Anne Hathaway, Janet Jackson, Kristen Stewart (Yes, she actually has more than one!!!), Lea Michele...  etc...  These shots in turn inspired me to do my own...   actually taken while waiting out the rain the other day - otherwise called - "When Boredom Strikes!"

(Mind You, this is just my FIRST TRY....  next time BOREDOM STRIKES, I WILL DO BETTER....  That's a Promise, Not a Threat!  Hahahahahaha....)

Yu Tsai is a well known photographer and has been doing campaigns for Apple, Coca Cola and the fashion brand GUESS since 2007!  He is one of the CELEBRITY SHOOT GO-TO-GUY for various magazines and publications.

Went to hear Mass today - at the church I always go to when am here in Taipei... I go at this particular time as, the service is in Tagalog (Philippines' language).... I get to practice my comprehension of Tagalog through the Priest's Eulogy... it helps that he is a funny one, always making me smile.... and the music - also in Tagalog - just sounds so beautiful.. uplifting and heart warming....

Anyway, right after the service, i saw that everyone was taking turns with photo taking by our Fave Priest and St. Christopher Church's Annual XMAS tree... so, always having the digicam handy, I joined in on the fun... got my photo taken too... at which time, this funny exchange between the Priest and I took place:

Father: Are You Filipino?
Rudi: Yes, Father... of course, I come to your service all the time and it is in Tagalog.... why did you ask?
Father: I see you all the time and I always just assume you are LOST...

LOL! That tells me never to sit in the very front anymore... I always thought I was being a good Catholic boy by sitting upfront, making sure I do not miss on anything... I did not know I look soooo Lost in following everything.... hahahahahaha

Here's another BLAST FROM THE PAST - Akbar & Jeff, a couple of my FAVE characters from the Life in Hell comics, by The Simpson's creator, Matt Groening. I remember in the mid 80's I always turn to look for them first in the daily newspaper.... and the ones with Akbar & Jeff cracks me up the most... readers used to debate whether they are brothers, twins, or lovers... but the creator did say, that they are GAY.... and with strips like this one - I found it in one of my photo albums, i guess I clipped it from the paper at the time it was published - one can definitely see their GAYNESS!!! hehehehehe

surviving friday the 13th....

..so I spent a good half of yesterday traveling in the rain.... had to catch a flight to Manila, an early one - so I was up by 5:30AM.... and out of the house by 7:30AM... it did not help that I kept waking up all nite long every hour... must be the anxieties that comes from having to wake up early (always scared I'd miss the alarm - so I end up waking up before it even rings!); or the sound of the heavy rain on the windows; or most likely, the thought of flying on Friday the 13th....

First up was the bus ride to CKS Airport... normally takes me a about 40/45 minutes but actually took so much longer - because of the traffic in the rain.... good thing I left the house with much more allotted time.... then it was just a bit of time till I have to face the HORRORS of it all: Philippine Airlines Flight. Yes, you read that right, i flew PAL again, not by choice but because we are in the Holiday season once more so I have to be wise in finding the cheapers airfares... and they had it for this month...

since i already knew what to expect from my previous flight, i was all set... and I only had the turbulence to be scared of... and it surely was a bit topsy turvy flying in the rain almost throughout the entire close to 2 hr flight... But I survived, and got to Ninoy Aquino Airport in Manila at the expected arrival time... then it was the HORRORS of BAGGAGE CLAIMS.... I could not believe I actually waited for almost an hour to get my one single suitcase.... how could this be for a modern airport terminal... well, it did not help that on one conveyor, three flights' luggage's were all being dispersed...LOLs!!!

Anyway, all I kept saying to myself - just deal - and once out of the terminal you will be fine... sunny skies ahead - as it was only about a little after 2PM.... WRONG!!!! as i must have brought the rain from Taipei with me.... waaaaah!!!!

So maybe Friday the 13th was BAD LUCK after all.... still, am happy to have SURVIVED it once more!!!
