Holiday Season Officially Starts

...and leading the way it this Uber Cute, Uber Stylish collaboration between Barney's New York and Disney...  Introducing, Barneys Holiday theme campaign - taking a Cute to Walt Disney's world famous, Electrical Parade : "Electric Holiday" to be unveiled to the public come Nov. 14th....  But o course, tidbits, info and even some photos have been surfacing all over the web... and even causing a few to stress (over the characters' - Minnie, Daisy & Co - new found lankiness/skinniness - to don the Designer Duds, of course!!!

 

This festive season, Barneys’ Madison Avenue flagship will feature a three-dimensional electric light show; a moving art short film in the window displays that will turn Disney’s most favorite heroes into runway supermodels and fashion regulars into Disney types, and an original score by Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino.

It has been stated that: "Barneys worked closely with Disney to make sure the concept was as true to the real fashion world as possible.   The world of the Paris fashion shows, of fashion, of people in fashion, of the rituals, all of the idiosyncrasies. Everything had to be authentic. It really had to hit the nail on the head in every detail.”

The short film centers around Minnie Mouse’s fantasy to be at the Paris shows. There she comes across key Disney characters — Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Daisy Duck, Cruella de Vil, Princess Tiana and Snow White — all decked out in unique designer clothes as they make their way down the runway.   For the occasion, as seen in the Press Released photos so far,  Minnie is all decked out in Alber Elbaz for Lanvin, Goofy by Olivier Rousteing for Balmain, & Daisy by Dolce & Gabbana.  Other charcters already confirmed to be all decked out for the Holidays are  Cruella De Ville by Rick Owens, Princess Tiana by Proenza Schouler and Snow White by Peter Copping for Nina Ricci.

 

In collaboration with this Holiday Campaign, Barneys will be offering  an exclusive, limited collection of holiday items at Chelsea Passage, select Barneys stores and barneys.com, including several collectible Vinylmation figures designed by Paul Smith and Diane von Furstenberg, and Mickey Mouse ears from Rag & Bone and L’Wren Scott. And so much more....  Barneys will donate 25 percent of sales from Electric Holiday products to a charity, undisclosed yet.

 

It seems that FASHION is high on Disney’s agenda these days. It has been said that, for a different project, the company  tapped several London designers, including Giles Deacon, Michael van der Ham and Richard Nicoll, to celebrate Minnie Mouse’s status as a cartoon fashion plate, and Meadham Kirchhoff will unveil a Minnie Mouse collaboration during its spring 2013 show. Proceeds of sales of the project’s items will go to the British Fashion Council/Bazaar Fashion Arts Foundation.

I, for one, cannot wait to see this project take center stage....  I only wish that I will be LUCKY person.  Or even just on the net will suffice, just as long as I get to see it all...  and of course, the VINYL offerings in collaboration with various designers are total MUST HAVEs!!!

Michael Phelps X Louis Vuitton

Fresh from his triumphant stint at the London 2012 Olympics, where he became the most decorated Olympian of all time - 22 Medals Total! - Swimmer Michael Phelps joins the likes of Bono, Sean Connery, Angelina Jolie, etc in endorsing the French Luxury Brand, Louis Vuitton....

 27-year-old Michael Phelps was shot by celebrated fashion and portrait photographer Annie Leibovtiz in a bath tub - swimming trunks and goggles, of course! Strewn at his sideis  a bath towel and Louis Vuitton tote.

2nd image has Mr. Phelps chatting to Larissa Latynina, the former Soviet gymnast who, before he - no pun intented - lapped her, was the most decorated Olympian with 18 medals.

Penshoppe All Stars continues to wow Internationally with the release of Vampire Diaries Resident Hunk, Ian Somerhalder, Ad appearances.....  the ones I have seen so far mostly capitalizes on his smoldering hypnotic eyes....  but I do hope that soon, sexier shots will be coming our way...  but then again, this guy is soooooo hot, he need not disrobe and he still oozes sexy..... :)

The Penshoppe All Stars Roster So Far!

Zac Efron for PENSHOPPE!

Penshoppe first brought us  Gossip Girl’s bad boy, Ed Westwick.  Then it was dreamy Thai cutie Mario Maurer. So, how re they topping these two - with none other than Zac Efron (Hairspray, High School Musical, New Year's eve, etc..).  What a SCOOP!!!  I myself, cannot wait to see more of the ads they will be coming out with using this Hollywood Hunk!  Just in time to, as he has a new movie out to promote, The Lucky One.... 

It has been stated that Zac Efron has never done an endorsement, so this partnership with Penshoppe is a first for him.  TRULY a GREAT SCOOP for the Pinoy Brand that seems quite intent to conquer the International World Market.

When asked in a few interviews why he chose to endorse the brand - Zac stated that: “I got to know the history of the brand and I like how it’s an original Pinoy brand,” he says. He adds further that, “We have this good family friends who are Filipino and they urged me to say yes. They said it was the top brand in the Philippines,”.

...was just blogging about local Pinoy brands going International - now comes another surprise...  but this time around, am not complaining.....  

BENCH, the Philippine's #1 local brand, goes Hollywood with their latest Ad Campaign for their Globally Popular underwear label, Bench Body...  Always a front runner in cladding, or disrobing I should say, famous hot bodies - Bench Body did it again!!!  This time in the form of The Vampire Diaries' resident wolfman:  Michael Trevino aka Tyler Lockwood....  and these shots will surely give everyone something to HOWL about - even before HALLOWEEN!!!

PENSHOPPE Goes Inter, Again!!!

Earlier this year, Penshoppe - one of the Philippines leading clothing brand - completely stunned me when they unveiled their latest ad campaign....  though am not much a FAN of their clothing (too young, too trendy, not too hip), I have always admired their advertising... and their choice of endorsers....   from Jericho Rosales.. to Victor Basa... to Matteo Gudecelli...  local actor/ models and certified hunks...  but this Springtime,  out went the local hotties - and instead, they unveiled a slew of print ads and billboards with Hollywood Star, Ed Westwick...  Chuck Bass of the popular Gossip Girl....   I suppose this is a BIIG COUP for the local brand...  delighted the masses who frequents their shops....  but alienated me a bit more....   Have nothing against Mr. Westwick - I can even say that some of the ads I have seen with him in, I actually like....  he looked better that I remember him in the show....  though I have only caught the first season... hahahahahaha...

Now, word is that a slew of new Ad Campaigns will be hitting the market for Penshoppe before the Holidays... this time around using Thai Actor/Model/Superstar Mario Mauer...  once again... not a local hottie but at least, coming from the same continent....  and with half an Asian blood infuse in him....  I believe he has a Thai mother and a European father...  and though I have never seen him in anything he has acted in (Love of Siam being his biggest HIT!) - I have seen him magazines and local entertainment news...  and he is a certified hottie...  so am looking forward to his shots up in biiig billboards, as well as, print ads in local Philippine Fashion Mags....  BTW, Mario will make a Personal Appearance in Manila on Oct 29th - he will be one of the main attraction for Penshoppe's Fashion Show for Philippine Fashion Week.

So this is a TREND the Philippine fashion houses are going for it seems....  Bench's underwear ads with the Philippine Ruby Team (though playing for the Philippines - each but one of them look Filipino!); OXYGEN using none but Caucasian Models...  and now, Penshoppe with their "one-two" use of foreign talents... 

So what's the deal???   Why replace the locals with International stars, athletes and/or models?   In fairness, Philippine Houses uses foreign talents both in print and media ads... and Philippine runways also boasts foreign talents... still, the locals always gets top billing and are the main focus.... until now....  as EXCITING as it is that the Philippine brands seemed geared to go Global - it is saddening to think that they will NOT BE REPRESENTED by Local Bloods.... seems a bit of a shame...  especially now that the Filipino Pride and Community seems to be everywhere - in sports, in Music, on TV, etc....

Meet the New BOSS Man!

Too Beautiful for words actor/model/singer, Jared Leto, is the new BOSS MAN... HUGO BOSS's been running their adverts both on TV and Magazines lately... and in ASIA a whole lot more - especially on CNN Asia and Travel & Living Stations... this must be on the heel of his band's (30 Seconds to Mars) latest Asian Concert Tour.Jared Leto, of course, first burst into the acting scene as the Boyfriend of Claire Danes on MTV's My So Called Life... and he went on to play second leads in such big movies as FIGHT CLUB with Brad Pitt & Edward Norton; Lord of War with Nicholas Cage; and Alexander with Colin Farrell, Angelina Jolie and former HUGO BOSS man, John Rhys Myers ... Of late though, he has been concentrating on his music and with his band, 30 Seconds to Mars.

I knew that Capt America aka Chris Evans is the new GUCCI GUILTY pour homme... but I just saw these adverts last nite and it is SMOKING!!! Chris' piercing eyes are still that, PIERCING as EVER!!! I actually like his physique here - more than his overly bulging, Capt. America one... and as an added bonus, Evan Rachel Wood is his equally smoking hot babe in the advert.... both looking uber sexy in the film advert - just wished it translated more in the print ads.... only Chris's eyes shines...

Bench is at it again.... causing FREEWAY HAZARDS, right on Manila's busiest traffic road, EDSA... how you may ask? well, it is with their newest Underwear Billboards, of course.... this time with the Philippines' Rugby Team.... Ripped Athlete's shows off their packages, eeeeer, I mean their physiques, clad in nothing but Bench's undies - in giant billboards all along Edsa.... sounds familiar??? Yes, it is the same sight for the People Power Revolution years ago... and quite notorious for the giant, attention grabbing, traffic causing Billboards adorning it's stretch - like these newest installations....

Christy Turlington for Louis Vuitton

Italy, like America, Japan & The Philippines, runs rampant with giant billboards ads - one cannot miss them at all.... One after another celebrities and supermodels doing their sexiest bit for the top luxury brand products' new ad campaigns: Madonna for Dolce & Gabbana, Scarlett Johanssen for MANGO, Christian Ronaldo & his Abs for Armani; Juliannne Moore for BVULGARI & my FAVE one at the moment: Christy Turlington (along with a few other well known models) for Louis Vuitton Fall & Winter Collection...

Christy along with Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, and a handful others (just about everyone in George Michael's FREEDOM Music Video), coined the phrase SUPERMODELS back in the late 80's/early 90's... but Christy is the one I liked most.... not only for her great looks and style but also, she was such a great fixture in the Bay Area where I grew up.... even now, she has done a few things, for the Bay Area - active in some causes plus invested on a few businesses....

And from these photos - her classic beauty has not fade one bit.... just had to share....

I can't believe I MISSED another UNDERWEAR Fashion Show put on by Bench, Philippines.... Bench is the the country's leading fashion brand made locally - and made for the masses as the lines are very much affordable - and still, somewhat, rivals other International brands.... especially when it comes to their UNDERWEAR collection... BENCH possibly makes most of it's PROFIT from their UNDERWEAR SALES - and how could anyone MISS all the magazine ads and the GIANT BILLBOARD ads (that usually causes traffic - if not accidents!) on the freeway - with some of the country's TOP Celebrities and Models donning the sexiest (and tightest) undies available... and if one is LUCKY - you get to attend the brand's most sought after annual fashion show - still with the beautiful celebrities and models strutting their goods on the runways...

This Past FEB 27th - Bench Body held a Mini Fashion Show at the Mall of Asia - with one of the nation's current IT boy, Jake Cuenca, showcasing the brands new line of FLUORESCENT COLORED UNDIES - just in time for the summer.... alas, since it was done in a Mall - the models, and the star only disrobed as far as their HIPSTER pants, showcasing the fluorescent bands of their private garments....

"Let's Cafe" with Mark Chao

Mark Chao right now, has got to be Taiwan's Hottest Hunk! From modeling to TV Commercials, including his break out "Let's Cafe" ads for 7-11... to starring in Teen Soap Operas (and winning an award for Best Actor already on TV)... and now a full pledged movie star!!! This guy's flame burns fast and furious (just about 2 years in the biz)... and it seems that there is no signs of the fire burning out. The 24 year old actor was born in Taipei, Taiwan and grew up and educated in Canada.

Mark's Break Out Ad Campaign is for 7-11's "Lets Cafe"... I believe the TV commercial and the ads all over Taiwan just converted so many more into coffee drinkers....Mark, starred in the commercial with his actual dad. In the commercial, he plays an unsuccessful man in both love and work -- and turns to coffee to relieve his pressure. The company invited Mark's father, Zhao Shu Hai, to make a special appearance, relating coffee to the warmth that your family gives you.


Currently, Mark can be seen in the Taiwan Film, MONGA - based on the lives of a few misfits who grew up as gangsters in the 70's/80's Taiwan. This movie just added more to his HOTNESS STATUS in Taiwan. My feelings though about the movie, or the actors in it, including Mark, is quite different... that's for another BLOG though....

No Ordinary Housewife & her Boytoy

Really nothing this woman can do.... selling millions of records; thrilling young and adults alike in her concerts, more like events; dropping hot directors for even hotter dancers; motherhood (both natural and through adoption); shame women (and MEN!) half her age for being able to stay fit; and of course, the endless endorsements for some of the more luxurious fashion houses such as Versace (2005), Louis Vuitton (2009) & now the latest, Dolce & Gabbana (2010).

Just as soon as the Ad campaign for Louis Vuitton was ending, where Madge seductively enticed all to buy the luxury brand, looking great in her baby doll dress, Equestrienne clothing, etc - she thrills again, in Dolce & Gabbana's Newest Ad Campaign... this time around the Material Girl takes on the role of an Italian housewife - washing dishes, eating pasta, peeling onions, and of course, a few come hither me poses in the bedroom and out... and of course she does it all in style!!!

So whether you are a fan or not - you cannot deny that she is here to stay for a long, long time...

and as an added bonus for those who are following the material girl's love life - here's a photo of her SUPER HOT 23 year old boytoy, Jesus Luz. Himself a spokes model, famously for MASH UNDERWEAR - wowing Brazilians with his Giant billboards. Most recent, Jesus was featured in a Photo Essay devoted to none other than himself, in the January issue of INTERVIEW magazine.

Alas, during the interview there was no talks about Madonna, which makes one wonder... after all, isn't she the real reason why he crossed over to the US of A in the first place? The sole reason why we know of his existence in the first place? See, another reason to THANK La Madonna for!!!
