Pink It Is!!!

So there was a time I did not like Pink at all...  Would not wear anything Pink.. Nor would I give Pink colored toys a chance..  Not even any Barbie in Pink (except the classic Enchanted Evening - of course!)
- I used to hate that Pink was Barbie's signature color... This fact always made my collector friends laugh...😜😜😜 I was also not much into most of the Sanrio characters... Too girly and frothy...  In the 80's I liked only Badz Maru - he is black color and he rocks!!!

Fast forward to a year after Juju was born...  She is sooo girly,  her fave color is Pink... Everything Pink and everywhere Pink!!!  So naturally, I was won over..  I warmed up to Pink..  And Hello Kitty & Friends...  So much so that I now collect some of  them...  Plus Pink has become a staple in my own wardrobe😝😝😝

It's March!!!

Going Green For March..  Why Not!!!
===============
I can only hope that this month will be good..  So far, not so...  Starting the month with Allergies - i haven't had it this bad in a loooon time...  So bad that I have caugt a headcold in the process..  Boo Hoo..  And adding to the headcold are a few minor headaches brought on by work and little and not so little matters that needs dealing with...

Yes, so far the month is already testing my patience and it is only the 2nd!!!  Lol
===============
On a good note, I did have a little fun yesterday, the 1st of March...  Because of my headcold I was pretty much at home the whole day...  Then, not to go out of my wits, decided to let my feet do the walking and take me wherever!!!

Ended up in the XinYi District area and had the pleasure is seeing the Panda installation all over Taipei's City Hall..  Drawing quite a crowd, one has to line up for every single panda on display - that is if you want to pose ans snap a shot with the critters...

Also had the pleasure of running into Stephanie Sun's Promotional
CD Debut appearance at the Warner Village area..
Got to hear her sing!  She has such a lovely voice, it has been a while since I heard her last..
Truly a Welcomed Surprise!!!

PILI Exhibition

Head back on to the 1914 Huanshan Creative Arts Center to take in the Art of PILI Exhibition....   PILI of course are a cross between dolls and puppets made and quite popular all over Taiwan and a few Chinese speaking countries....   PILI has grown from performing in night markets during the Chinese Holidays...  to their own popular TV SHOWs and Serials.... and soon capturing the 3D movie going crowds with their very own 3D film...
The exhibition boasts so many of the original puppets/dolls used in their many serials....   so this is quite exciting to see for the shows' followers....  Original art, illustrations and planning sketches were also on hand...  various intricately designed weapons....   elaborate settings....  and of course, the glorious costumes are enough to marvel at....    even if one is not a follower of these shows, it will still be quite an amazing exhibition to see - just to revel at the artistry and craftsmanship's of all the people who make these dolls/puppets come to life!!!
a few mass produced merchandise, based on the much loved characters, were also on display...

The 2nd of January was part of Juju and I's Christmas gifts..  Mommy got us tickets to see the 30th Anniversary of RODY Exhibition at the 1914 Huanshan Arts Center - a Fave artsy grounds for a lot of people in Taipei.

I only know RODY, pretty much for the Premiums I have been collecting from Hi Life, Family mart, etc..  Plus of course, the bouncing kiddie sized ones that have been quite popular the last few years - but I was AMAZED to see that RODY's been around for 30 years!!!

And the Exhibition was well worth it.... lots of colorful RODY's on display - in various sizes, too... and for added fun, one can touch, grab, pose with, and even ride most of the ones displayed....  Just Too Cool!!!  Juju had the most fun - of course! as she was allowed to ride most of the ones there... including the RODY Carousel - and ride she did... at least 4 times!!!. Plus a few One Of A Kind ones done by local and popular artists were on display in the gallery.
The Giant RODY that greets attendees and passersby...

I can Imagine this in my home..  Hahahahahahaha...

Circus Themed Room and yes it was all Intetactive!

2 Happy Kids on the RODY-Go-Round!!! Juju loved it so much we must have ridden it at least 4 times..  She just had to sit and take a photo with every single one of them..  LOL!

Trick Art 3D Exhibition

Running now through the 5th of January 2014 - Trick Art Exhibition is surely bringing in so much entertainment fun to both, young and adults alike, at the National Science Museum.
The 3rd Part in this much loved exhibition takes on Kitaro GeGe.,.  Scenes after scenes from this popular Japanese Animation were reproduced in giant canvases so as one may be able to interact with them, photograph and be a part of each scene.
I suggest you go on a weekday so as to avoid loads of people and long period of times waiting.  But if you do not have a choice and can only go on a weekend, I say "Brave the Crowds and the long was - and Enjoy!!!"  It will be worth it.  All you need is your entrance Fee and loads of enthusiasm  and imagination!!!

Yingge Ceramics Museum

Tuesday, August 13th - we took a day trip to the Ceramics Capital of Taiwan:  New Taipei City's Yingge.  I have been here many years ago when the Yingge Ceramics Museum first opened... not quite done but operational...   I am so surprised as to how wonderful the place has developed....  the building's architecture itself, is marvelous....  very modern both on the outside, as well as the inside....  the Museum houses a GREAT PERMANENT Exhibition of just about everything one needs to know about Ceramics making...  with lots of interactive areas that demonstrates and teaches one in the art of ceramics making....
Of course, one can revel to the many ceramic arts on display - both permanent and special exhibited ones... at any given time there will be one or two special ones on view for period of times....  The collection exhibited permanently ranges from potteries & vases to GODs and Goddesses figures...  from ceramic art windows to ancient ceramic pillows (these were my favorite).... and everything else in between....  a whole day is not nearly enough to see and take in all that is on display....  the colors... the shapes... the splendours are all amazingly on display here....
The Museum grounds is quite big, as well...  with lots of areas for fun, play and to get educated....   Of course, Juju's fave - as well as all the kids - is the water fun area....  just about ankle deep with lots of colorful ceramic spheres to play with......  Juju took hours playing here....
and scattered all around the grounds are special large ceramic pieces (see photo below) to admire....
After the Museum, we took a walk in the pretty and touristy area called Lao Jie - Old Street - not so old looking anymore as it has been developed very much for the tourists and locals alike....  still, so many of the shops and restaurants are from long ago times so one can still have that old town feel....   And one can revel at the glorious, rows and rows of shops, selling pottery/ceramic pieces....
