Pink It Is!!!

So there was a time I did not like Pink at all...  Would not wear anything Pink.. Nor would I give Pink colored toys a chance..  Not even any Barbie in Pink (except the classic Enchanted Evening - of course!)

- I used to hate that Pink was Barbie's signature color... This fact always made my collector friends laugh...😜😜😜 I was also not much into most of the Sanrio characters... Too girly and frothy...  In the 80's I liked only Badz Maru - he is black color and he rocks!!!

Fast forward to a year after Juju was born...  She is sooo girly,  her fave color is Pink... Everything Pink and everywhere Pink!!!  So naturally, I was won over..  I warmed up to Pink..  And Hello Kitty & Friends...  So much so that I now collect some of  them...  Plus Pink has become a staple in my own wardrobe😝😝😝

And today, we went all out and atteded the 40th Anniversary Exhibition for both My Melody and Twin Stars...  Wearing Pink, of course!!!

Typhoon season is upon us once more... And our first big one is happening right now...  Been on the weather watch all week long and as predicted, it hit us here in Taipei last nite...  And still raging on today....

Was awaken just a little after 6am by a loud breaking sound...  Got up to look and saw our first major casualty😢😢😢

All these photos I took this morning..  Braved the weather for a bit, stepped out in front of my home and took these snaps.. These are all on my block...

In less than a minute, I was soaking wet..  And forget the umbrella..  That's a goner...  Can only Imagine how everywhere else has fared...

Swimming with Juju is getting a lot more fun now...  Little by little, she is getting braver and braver...  The last few times, am able to get her to swim with her paddle board in the longer pool - where people really do laps... Longer and deeper...

We compromise, 10 laps - a snack break  - then another 10 laps.  One way I swim back float pulling her...  the  other way she kicks with the board on her own...  10Xs laps, then break to eat her cookies n drink then 10 laps again!!!  

She did not complain at all or pretend to be scared and ask me to hold her...  So i kept telling her she is doing good - to which she replies: "I am Supergirl".  

In the last few laps though she was getting slower.  So I was telling her: "OMG, what happened Supergirl, why are you getting slow?"  She stopped kicking, looked me straight in the eyes and said without blinking: " Am just a little girl, you know!"  Then continued on with her lap.

I laughed so much...  I was so elated with our swim, i forgot that she IS just a little girl!😜😜😜

Green Day

Wow.. Feb sure went by fast...  Not only because it is the shortest month but with all the Holidays thrown in (VDay, Chinese NY...) things were just too busy to even know the days flying by...

So here we are ..  The month of March upon us..  Almost time to welcome the First Day of spring with the flowers blooming - and the smell of refreshing days in the air.   

It is also the month we get to celebrate St Patrick's Day - so time to color the days Green! Starting with dressing Green the first day of the month!

16 Years!!!!

16 years ago yesterday, January 9th,  I arrived in Taipei, Taiwan to make a go of a new life...  And what a life it has been...  Would not change any part of it. Okay maybe one or two - but truly, for the most part it has been filled with adventures & happiness...  Got to spend more time with my family in The Philippines....  Got to spend tine with Mom and Dad before their passing.., see my nephews and nieces grow into adulthood...  and have been Blessed to be a part of another family, The Wus!!! 

To You, Thanks for being my Best Friend, Biz Partner, and my Family all these years...  Through the Ups and Downs we have managed to stick it out...  Here's to more years of adventures, more countries to explore, and more of everything to come...

Sunday in the Park

Had a lovely time at Flora Expo Park yesterday, Sunday the 2nd!  Nice cool temperature with soothing breezes...  Live music...  And even the Annual Flora International Award Expo is in full swing...  Juju and i was having a lot of fun, we must have spent almost 6 hrs there...  A really nice way to end the week!

at the annual Flora International Award Exposition.

And of course, we stopped by St Christopher's Church to pay respects and light candles.

Halloween, Taipei Style!

Halloween is really not that big here in Taiwan - mostly relegated to the International Schools and PUBs frequented by expats...  Even the Department Stores are not much into it... A few decors here and there, mostly in the candies and chocs section...  Makes me miss the Halloweens spent growing up In the Bay Area...

Still, Juju and I managed to find something and make the most of the Holiday..  Celebrating best we could...  This year it was spent at Maji Square.

Juju as a Bat Girl was truly happy....   not sure why some Chinese parents do not want to let their kids celebrate Halloween - nevermind that it is not a Traditional Chinese Holiday, it is a FUN one for kids...

I can only hope that this month will be good..  So far, not so...  Starting the month with Allergies - i haven't had it this bad in a loooon time...  So bad that I have caugt a headcold in the process..  Boo Hoo..  And adding to the headcold are a few minor headaches brought on by work and little and not so little matters that needs dealing with...

Yes, so far the month is already testing my patience and it is only the 2nd!!!  Lol

On a good note, I did have a little fun yesterday, the 1st of March...  Because of my headcold I was pretty much at home the whole day...  Then, not to go out of my wits, decided to let my feet do the walking and take me wherever!!!

Ended up in the XinYi District area and had the pleasure is seeing the Panda installation all over Taipei's City Hall..  Drawing quite a crowd, one has to line up for every single panda on display - that is if you want to pose ans snap a shot with the critters...

CD Debut appearance at the Warner Village area..  

Got to hear her sing!  She has such a lovely voice, it has been a while since I heard her last..  

Truly a Welcomed Surprise!!!

Lantern Festival 2014

Be sure not to miss this year's Lantern Festival display happening now at the various Taipei Flora Expo Pavilions in the Jhongshang district.

An abundance of Glorious, Amazing, Creative, whimsical, wonderful lanterns

to thrill the young and old alike.

Had the pleasure of visiting and admiring them earlier this week with Juju...  Lights are turned on by 5:30PM... And a light show everynite at about 7:30PM.  We were lucky enough to get there just a little after 5PM so not too many people yet..  

This is one of my most FAVE pieces on display...  Dragon, of course!

The drops if rain did not bother us st all..  Way too many nice lanterns to thrill us.. And in some cases the rain is even an added touch as the lanterns' reflections on the wet grounds added to the beauty of it all!

KHH for CNY 2014: Part 2

The rest of the time in Kaohsiung for the Chibese New Year Holiday was quite relaxing...  Especially with the Boys working and away in Military duties...  Still, we sure made the most of our time..... 

Mornings were spent on loooong walks with Liya and the doggies...  

Afternoons having coffee...  And evenings just relaxing...

Thursday the 30th was extra fun as Both Todd and Johnny starts their CNY holidays..  So we get 2 days with them... Running around..  Helping prepare for the Chinese New Year's Eve....  Then the celebration itself...

Welcoming Johnny Wu Home with our versions of the Military Salute...  LOL!!!

Our last day, the 31st, was spent going to a couple of Temples...  Hanging out at the park with the whole Wu Clan...  And in the evening, going to Love River to see some Lanterns already on display...  And a boat ride around the river....
