Did I miss something?  It seens as if in Asia mags, the trend is to pose almost Naked Celebrities n Personalities with designer bags...  Maybe they figured, for some of the bags outrageou prices, no other funds to buy the clothes!!  Lol..

But this is just fine by us, as the photos are just perfect for this week's Hump Day!!!

In honor of World AIDS Day, this past December 1st - Element Magazine unveiled their Visual AIDS Awareness Campaign.  The magazine brings the message across with sexy photos of naked, very fit, toned bodies with their sensitive parts covered by tapes boasting important messages.  Ingenious and Hot!!

The campaign is spotlights a total of 9 athletic models, both straight and gay men - not to sure who os who.. But who cares!  Some of the notable personalities who bared all for the campaign are  popular fitness model, Jason Chee; Mandopop singer, Hagen Troy; and Singapore's Manhunt International winner for 2013, Jason Tan.

What a dream combination!!!  Famed Fashion photographer, Mario Testino shoots the enigmatic ShuQi for VOGUE, China...  And the shots are deliciously fun and sexy - even with ShuQi all covered up in stylishly retro classic fashions!

Channing Tatum must really be THANKING  above now....  not only is he PEOPLE magazine's SEXIEST MAN ALIVE for 2012,  GQ also got him on the cover as their MAN OF THE YEAR!!!

We pretty much know that all of these, comes from the recent success of his film Magic Mike - so Mr. Tatum, if you are taking notes, get MAGIC MIKE 2 going already!!!

Fashion's Night Out X Taipei

It is that time of the year once more where, fashion conscious, and not-so, celebrates and shops till the late hours of the nite... All for a Great Cause!!!

In Taipei, the event sponsored by VOGUE Taiwan magazine, gets a week long celebration in Taipei... And another week more down south, Kaohsiung. Since late last week, VOGUE set up various displays all over the Warner Viewshow area promoting the event.... A trailer truck all decked out is parked by the NEO 19 building that entices and invites everyone to join in on the fun and help spread the word online interactively via Facebook.... Had the pleasure to have been asked to participate, as well....

In Taipei, everything culminates tonight with a Fashion Show Event at 6PM in the same area... More coverage later...

Joseph Gordon-Levitt - Action Star!

 

Okay forget GI Joe, where he was masked most of the time.... and in the recent Dark Knight Rises, the end shows promise of a franchise Robin movie in the wings (one can hope!) - run to the theatres (or catch the DVD) and see Joseph cycling his was to some adrenaline pumping stunts in the movie Premium Rush.

 

He plays the TOP NY bicycle messenger that somehow got embroiled in some shady espionage/mafia related stuff....  story actually quite simple, but the storytelling is what makes the difference....  the whole movie spans just a day in a life of his character - juggling his love life & work all the while navigating through the busy streets of NY....  always trying to be one step ahead of the situation - trying to figure out his way through traffic and what could be accidents by seeing his possible ways through in his head, in seconds... Then he is called in his old Alma mater to pick up a package and to be delivered in Chinatown - simple enough, but NO!   All else ensues and saying much more would be giving away the whole film....  

 

It is just AMAZING seeing this really talented actor tackle on such diverse roles and he always delivers....  am glad that he took on this action role and not some "shoot em up", "bloody fighting" types of action films.... His lean physique makes it believable for him to be in this kind of job....  and his ways (mostly by using his head) in dealing with obstacles makes him an intellectual action hero - again even more believable....   The stunts are pretty cool....  I was at the edge of my seat a few times....  I was able to overlook the campyness of the bad guy....  the bad Chinese wanna be accent of the damsel in distress....  and the cheesy love troubles....  Was a nice excuse to be out of the heated sunny afternoon and still get some adrenaline pumping, indeed...

Mr Gordon-Levitt was recently on the cover of GQ Magazine too...  looking very dashing....  and the photos inside are pretty nice, too...  He can make being totally dressed look very sexy!

Nakata X Mr Porter

MR PORTER has a GREAT COVER STORY of Retired Japanese Footballer, Hidetoshi Nakata - both a Fave Sportsman and a Style Icon of many around the world, myself included...   Retired at an early age of 29, this guy is sorely missed in the World of Football... having represent his country in three World Cups and play in the Italian Serie A and English Premier League.

Since retiring, he has said to have traveled and visited as much as, 100 countries... he is said to be education himself with the ways of the world...  he's mentioned that, though he has traveled to many places with the sport, it was always for that, not much in the ways of seeing the sights and experiencing the wonders of each countries visited... so he is making up for it all now...

Though retired, he is still very much considered a part of Football....  many will always associate him with the sports and being soooo stylish....   of late he has done ADVERTS for Calvin Klein Underwear, COKE ZERO, etc....   as well as, many fashion editorials and cover stories for a number of magazines...  with Mr Porter being the latest....

...ever wondered what happened to the UK POP Band BLUE... wel, they are back in a BIG WAY... gracing the cover of ATTITUDE magazine... yep, teh bois are taking it all off for the mag like fellow BRIT POPSTERS, McFly & Robbie Williams - both have shed clothings for the mags annual NAKED ISSUE...

Just read that the February 2011 issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine: UK Edition with Joan Osbourne on the cover has Maroon 5's HU NKY front man, Adam Levine NEKKID... this is to Raise Awareness for Prostate Cancer.... With just a couple of hands covering Adam's Treasures - the shots are sure to raise the sales of the magazine to the roof.... Truly an issue worth getting NEKKID for.... as well as an ISSUE to COVET and Treasure....

Murakami Love!!!

Elle Magazine's August Edition for the Taiwan market boasts Taiwan's reigning POP DIVA, Jolin Tsai on the cover - accompanied by one of my fave, and world re-known artist, Takashi Murakami's signature character -- for their FUN ART Issue!!!

Inside is a 7 pages of GLOSSY COLOR Photos of the collaboration... with Jolin Tsai dressed in various Haute Couture fashions posed against some of Murakami's more well known works.... each and every page - just FABULOUSLY ARTSY if you ask me....

This is actually GREAT as my only complain during the Art Taipei
2010 Exhibition was that I only got to see 1 work by one of my all time fave artist Takashi Murakami. This almost makes up for the lack of his work in the Exhibition - though it would have been great to have seem all these featured in the magazine in person....

the little things....

haiiiis.... with the rain in Taipei going on almost a week now - it's enough to make one go insane.... I mean I am told it will be SUNNY & beautiful by Wednesday and today, Tuesday, should already start to IMPROVE.... but so far, even with the birds out chirping away, the rain still falls.... so I figured, I BLOG about it and hope that someone up there will take note and actually give us a break from all this rain... LOL!

Now as you know, I really do not m,ind the rain much.... I actually love the sounds of the falling rain on my window pane.... love taking walks in the rain now and again..... and I even relish the run by the river after it rains (sans the puddles to avoid - and there are lots that is it more like an obstacle course than a leisurely run - hahahahahahah)... Still, I look forward to the BREAKS FROM THIS HARD RAIN..... then am able to run my errands... go for walks in the market or the book store.... go for a real run by the river.... and get energized to get dressed and see friends and the world - not be bogged down with the feeling of gloominess from the dark clouds and the thoughts of getting wet, no matter how one tries to avoid the rain....

Still, am not all about griping today.... there are still many things to be THANKFUL for - little things that matters a lot, a whole lot... like the following: the rainy season marks the season of certain fave fruits in Taiwan such as Grapes, Lychees, Mangoes...; rainy days are GREAT DAYS to spend visiting the Library and discovering new magazines - such as DPI (Art & Illustration magazine) - a new fave..: catching up with the Premiums am collecting...; and many other surprises, little ones that brings so much joys, like waking up to find an email telling me that YAHOO! editorial chose to include 2 photos of mine in their FLICKR "DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL 2010" album... it is always good to know that others are checking out my blogs and photos ...
