Happy Halloween!!!

Wishing you all a Safe N Fun Celebration!!!
================

JEALOUSY - is not a part of my vocabulary...   for me,  it is a wasted emotion...

Instead of looking at others and being jealous, try looking within you...  Inside you... Past and present...   See all that you have been blessed with..  And are being Blessed with. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Be at Peace. See how light, simple, easy and happy life could be.

"OPM"
Woking Friday while listening to a few OPM Faves...

Now, am not well versed on Pinoy music , really..  I actually own more Spanish CDs than OPM but I do have my faves!!!

Gary V - i have admired and idolized growing up in the Bay  Area to present...  Others I discovered during trips in Manila - some i hear on the TAXI ( Ogie Alcasid, Wency, Nina, Yeng) or bought for the first time just because the CD cover caught my eyes (Mark Bautista, Ariel Rivera, Jericho Rosales)...

Then there's Piolo Pascual - totally different level of admiration😜😜😜.   Besides Gary V and Mark Bautista, his CDs are the only ones I buy without fail!

MOVIES X 3!!!

This week, I got to see not one... not two... but three - yes three movies!!!!   Not sure how I managed but in between work and taking care of Juju, I did - and I could not be Happier!!!

First film I saw, thanks to the FREE PASS, is the Taiwanese made film "Black and White".  Was reluctant at first as I was not too sure if there will be English subtitles but since it is an action film, I said to myself: "What the heck...  plot will be simple enough to follow>"  Though it really was, am still happy there was English subtitle after all.  And was quite surprised with the film - could totally rival those made in Hollywood in the Special Effects and Actions scenes.  Acting from the cast was good enough...   considering they did not have much to say.   Was overall Happy and Satisfied with the film, just cannot stand the addition of the "trying so hard to be funny" side kick / partner of Mark Chao...  could totally do without him....   he was not even funny... guess the writer was gunning for the same sidekicks seen in Hollywood Action flicks - but failed.

Then on the 9th of this month I set out to see the premiere of DRACULA - my most anticipated film this year.  Weeks ago, I already decided that by hook or by crook - I will get to see it on the first day.  And with babysitting chores later in the afternoon - it worked out well that I went to the first showing.  Got up earlier than usual... did all my work... shipping and all.... making sure I make it in time for the film.  Lots of high speed maneuvering but totally worth it!!!
Not expecting much about the storyline, as most reboots does not live up to expectations nowadays - I was still amazed, enthralled and thrilled by the film.   I do not know anyone in the cast except for Charles Dance and Luke Evans... and that was just fine by me....  I was really there for the legend that is Dracula, the costumes, the cinematography and Luke Evans....   and those all got two thumbs up from me!!!   I left the theatre happy and with a hope that a follow up will be in the works!

Third film is "Gone Girl".  This one I knew nothing about....   I agreed to go with the girls as I like most everyone in the cast plus I know if it's a David Fincher film, one is in for a ride.  And it sure was one helluva ride!!!    So many unexpected twists and turns....  and the Cast, every single one of them, delivered!!!!  Especially Rosamund Pike....   I was a Fan then - am a bigger Fan now!!!   It is one of those movies that is sooooo good, you would not mind seeing it again, and again, and again....   and not for the much talked about Private Parts of both Ben Affleck and Neil Patrick Harris - besides, in Taiwan, those scenes always end up on the cutting floor.
=====================
So over all, this week, I have nothing to complain for - and much to be happy about!
Hope everyone else's week is going well.

RIP Mr. Williams

Thank you for the many years of laughter - from Television to Movies... and in life....   You are one of the most talented actors I have admired, and a fine humanitarian.    You will be missed but your legacy will live on for years to come.   You will be Forever Remembered!
3 Quotes from Mr Williams:
===================

"You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it."

“I used to think the worst thing in life was to end up all alone. It’s not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people who make you feel all alone.”

"See, the problem is that God gives men a brain and a penis, and only enough blood to run one at a time."

"Arrow" Boy: Colton Haynes

Was cleaning up my IPhone photo albums to free up space and get ready for an  upcoming trip - came across this shot of an ARROW promo ad in one of the Malls in Manila..  Colton Haynes looking as Hot as Ever!!!  Never posted the shot anywhere bit thought it's a Perfect lead for this week's Hump Day Edition!!!
Modeling Days lead to MTV's Teen Wolf.
2 Seasons on Teen Wolf...  lots of flesh baring scenes including his swan song episode left many fans disappointed to find him gone when Season 3 started up...
Good thing he turned up on ARROW!!!
Have yet to see a STYLE that does not suit him!
Back doing the recent Abercrombie & Fitch Book...
Back in his early modeling days, he was A&F's IT Boy!

FROZEN

Had another first with Juju today  - first time to a movie!!!  Well, technically it is the 2nd but the first time, Madagascar, she could not sit still and kept talking loudly, we actually left 30 mins into the movie - so as not to upset the other movie goers...  Lol!  This time around Juju was great..  She sat still..  Talked softly, as i taught her, whenever she had a question or comment...  And just truly enjoyed the movie...  Laughing, clapping and reacting at the right moments...  Swaying during the musical numbers...  And was even more sadder than I when the movie finished...

FROZEN was the perfect movie...  At three years of age, Juju is understanding more and is getting to be a true lover of Disney/Pixar films...  Thanks to Tangled, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc., etc...  And it helped that we wend on a weekday afternoon when not too many people are around....  less frustrating, less pressures, and less crowds to deal with.....  like having your own movie screen!!!

The movie, based on the Snow Queen,  was wonderful....  The animation superb - as a Toy Lover, am feeling a need to find some of the figures produced for the film!!!  The music was catchy enough and having Jonathan Groff and Idina Menzel voice out  two of the main characters was a delight!!!   Idina doing the main song, "Let It Go", is a shoo in for the OSCARS, and I cannot wait to see/hear her sing it LIVE...

And am even getting to enjoy older Disney movies (Snow White, Cinderella, Beauty n the Beast, Little Mermaid) as I introduced them to her via DVD on the days I babysit her.. And through doing so, I have reignited my love for Disney films... Which are basically Classic ones now!   Oh how I delight in seeing them again...  Like seeing old friends once more!!!

Thanks Disney/ Pixar for the many years of delighting and thrilling with your films!!!   And here's to many more to come!!!!
-------------
Right after, we even get to play around the Miramar area for a bit!

RODY Land

The 2nd of January was part of Juju and I's Christmas gifts..  Mommy got us tickets to see the 30th Anniversary of RODY Exhibition at the 1914 Huanshan Arts Center - a Fave artsy grounds for a lot of people in Taipei.

I only know RODY, pretty much for the Premiums I have been collecting from Hi Life, Family mart, etc..  Plus of course, the bouncing kiddie sized ones that have been quite popular the last few years - but I was AMAZED to see that RODY's been around for 30 years!!!

And the Exhibition was well worth it.... lots of colorful RODY's on display - in various sizes, too... and for added fun, one can touch, grab, pose with, and even ride most of the ones displayed....  Just Too Cool!!!  Juju had the most fun - of course! as she was allowed to ride most of the ones there... including the RODY Carousel - and ride she did... at least 4 times!!!. Plus a few One Of A Kind ones done by local and popular artists were on display in the gallery.
The Giant RODY that greets attendees and passersby...

I can Imagine this in my home..  Hahahahahahaha...

Circus Themed Room and yes it was all Intetactive!

OOAK RODY's on Display

2 Happy Kids on the RODY-Go-Round!!! Juju loved it so much we must have ridden it at least 4 times..  She just had to sit and take a photo with every single one of them..  LOL!
================
We lucked in and another exhibition was going on - the Taiwanese Doll/Puppetry that has been popular around the world: PILI!  So, we got to have fun with a few of their displays too!!!

Happy Dec 1st!!!

Today marks the official start of the Christmas Season for me...  Not only do I get Giddy and Excited each time I see Christmas Decorations up, here and there, in my everyday journeys...  I actually go out of my way to visit Fave Taipei spots that I know will not disappoint and have a beautiful display...
(Note: You can see more of my Christmas 2013 Snaps from everywhere by Clicking Here!)

The Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, in the Xinyi District, is by far my most fave place..   The are boasts one of the largest areas covered in Christmas Splendour, year after year!!!  All the Shin Kong Department stores are fully decked in Christmas - from the window displays to the inner decors.  The area boasts one of the biggest, if not the prettiest Christmas tree in Taipei.  And Cathay United Bank, year after year, manages to thrill young and old alike with their whimsical Christmas Wonderland...  This has been a popular area for picture taking for all, myself included!!  So stay tuned for more photos to come...

Today also marks the day I set up my Christmas Tree...
No matter where I might be for this magical Day, I must have a Christmas tree...
This year I did not load up all the toys, as I did last year...  Instead, I the time I started putting up the tree, I decided to go with a Rody and maruko-chan theme..  I have enough Premiums toys of these characters from both Hi*Life and Family Mart..  Plus Rody has been really making waves in Taiwan lately..  I even have tixs for  an Enjoy Rody exhibition happening this month!!!  Exciting!!!

So there you go..  If you did not know then, you MUST know by now,
I Love Christmas..  And am not ashamed to say so!!!

On a very SOMBER NOTE...  it was reported today that Actor Paul Walker died from a tragic fiery car accident.  He, along with a friend who was driving the car, both died from the accident.  Mr Walker and friend were on their way to a Charity Event in Southern California, to benefit the Yolanda Typhoon Victims. A kind soul through the end - he will be missed.   Mr Walker had just turned 40 - Truly, Gone Too Soon!    I see postings on FB and Twitter from some of his friends and his previous co-stars - all of them are in shock like the rest of us fans... and all of them had nothing but kind words for this humble, honest, talented and kind man!
Rest In Peace Paul Walker!
