Woking Friday while listening to a few OPM Faves...  

Now, am not well versed on Pinoy music , really..  I actually own more Spanish CDs than OPM but I do have my faves!!!

Gary V - i have admired and idolized growing up in the Bay  Area to present...  Others I discovered during trips in Manila - some i hear on the TAXI ( Ogie Alcasid, Wency, Nina, Yeng) or bought for the first time just because the CD cover caught my eyes (Mark Bautista, Ariel Rivera, Jericho Rosales)...

Then there's Piolo Pascual - totally different level of admiration😜😜😜.   Besides Gary V and Mark Bautista, his CDs are the only ones I buy without fail!

Well..  Not really in the Hunk Category but what the heck..  Actually took this photo the other day after being told I have gotten fatter by the regulars at my neighborhood pool...  Have not been there for 5 months and that was the consensus upon my return..  Middle Age Flabs have truly settled in since I have not been running or swimming everyday anymore....  Boo Hoo...

well, today's weather seems to be APROPOS for the day that it is: HUMP DAY!  Started off frigging hot and sunny....  and was all set to go on a trek in search of COOLER PASTURES for Juju and I to play in or hang out in, then in just a SNAP, it all changes to GLOOMINESS and RAIN!!!   Too bad the temp did not seem to have been affected as it is still quite Hot....  Humid even....  as in I just showered half an hour ago and am ready for another one already... LOL....

Actually, it has been like so since the middle of April....  temperature kept rising with Humidity factoring in...  and then all of a sudden, non-stop Rain...   and some days, Thunder and Lightning even....  Outdoor running is now relegated again to night time... just as soon as the sun comes down, so as it is not too late but late enough that the sun is gone and the breeze, however little it is, is already blowing for the night....   It is even getting Hotter already Indoors - time for the Air-Conditioning to do it's wonders once more - as the FAN is are just not enough again....

so against my better judgement, I bought Piolo Pascual's latest CD, DECADES... where he covered songs from the 50's , 60's, 70's & 80's.... the songs were well known enough but just by browsing at the selection - I already had an iffy feeling about it.... was I right.... as sweet as his voice is when talking and singing, the songs were just, mostly, not fitting to his vocal styling and powers... still, am sure the target market (myself included) will be buying the CD & will even enjoy it enough....

and in fairness, the producers included some really nice photos with the packaging.... for some, worth every cent already....

Now and again, when in Manila, I get dragged to see Filipino movies... not a FAVE thing of mine to do but this is one am really HAPPY I got dragged to....

"Kill Yourself!!! Go To Hell!!!" I cannot STOP uttering these words... just for fun that is!!! and FUN is an understatement in describing this RIOT A MINUTE of a MOVIE....

I cannot remember the last time I laughed sooo hard watching a PINOY movie.... and to think - I was not into going to see this one at all... I was HESITANT as most PINOY movies disappoints me,,... either to overly dramatic.... or very corny comedies... Plus I really do not know Eugene Domingo and Ding Dong is in this one... another MINUS for me... hahaahhahaha.... The only thing I really know is that it was produced by my fave, Piolo Pascual (read it in the cover story of the latest GARAGE mag)..

Anyway, am sooooo THANKFUL for being DRAGGED to see this movie.... truly a funny and highly recommended movie.... Ms Eugene is one funny, funny woman.... and should already be a BIIIG STAR.... or if she is, an even BIGGER STAR....

am pretty sure I need not REVIEW the movie much as most of you will go see it... and if not planning on it - CHANGE YOUR MIND - GO!!! you will be just as surprised and entertained as I was! Plus LOTS of CUTIES doing cameos.... Piolo included!!!

1 Year and 6 issues later, GARAGE magazine, still manages to thrill and excite me...
Never, ever thought I would say this about any Men's Fashion Magazine, much more, one that is produced in the Philippines for the Philippine market..

To think, I passed on it when I first saw the Premier issue with Jake Cuenca on the cover... thinking I did not need another, Men's Fashion Magazine... back then I was only reading HIM, Metro (which have since ceased in publication)... the 2nd issue had the AKIHITO on the cover, then the Japanese/Brazilian IT BOY model in the Philippines... so I picked it up and actually liked the contents... filled with nice informative & usable articles on a variety of topics... Photographs and Styling that can rival those of the ones in many European and American magazines.... and coverage on clothing ranging from HIGH to LOW; LOCAL to FOREIGN brands; from CASUAL to DRESSY and everything else in between.... I TRULY anticipate each and every issue during my trips to Manila...

The Anniversary Issue boasts another BONUS for me: PIOLO PASCUAL on the cover - accompanied by lots more great photo inside. I actually had a hard time finding one in Metro manila as all the National Bookstores I normally picked these mag up were SOLD OUT... finally getting LUCKY in the Greenhills area buying theit last copy. Am told that this is the BEST SELLING issue so far and that there is an alternate cover available, too... still PIOLO but a more close up shot... KEEP IT UP GARAGE, and I PROMISE, I will be HOOKED FOREVER!!! Now if I can just find that alternate Anniversary Cover Issue....

This last trip in Manila, I was welcomed by one of the newest eye-catching billboards along EDSA, the capital's main super highway, (and believe me, at any given time, there are hundreds of them all over Manila!) -- this one is from BENCH - the nation's #1 producer of SEXY and even SEXIER Billboards (maker and seller of the country's SEXIEST UNDIES for both men & women) using all of the HOTTEST Local stars and celebrities.... even International ones, like Nicole from Pussycat Dolls.This new one boasts the country's #1 male star for many years now... and for me, he is one of the best the country has to offer, PIOLO PASCUAL. He sings, he dances, he can really act, and boy does he have the looks to go with it all... COMPLETE PACKAGE!!! And he gets better every year, as he gets older. Anyway, it seems the Billboards are way too sexy for the advertising council and they are asking for them to be taken down.... must be causing traffic and accidents... I don't know but to me, it is JUST SEXY without even trying.... not in a SEXUAL WAY to cause the said stir and controversy... HE IS JUST SEXY!
