Satisfying Monday

Nothing can beat the Monday Blues than taking in an early showing of Dark Knight Rises at MIRAMAR... It did not even feel like 3 hrs long... :)

Very Christopher Nolan movie... Great story telling... Great cast, headed by Christian Bale (truly THE BATMAN!!!) and the regular series mainstay: Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine... Added supporting cast: Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Coitlard, & Tom Hardy...   And loved the star studded cameos - past and present characters collide - Cillian Murphy, Matthew Modine, Liam Neeson, etc...    And truly love and very much excited about  the promise of a Robin movie...

If I were to complain, I would  only wished there was more action...   but I suppose, it being a 3Hr film - the action was spread out....    And more Catwoman!!!  Anne Hathaway, in the scenes she was in was soooo good, fitting that cat suit just nicely - but she did not get enough to do....  not much fighting and not enough long shots of Anne in her full catsuit glory....

One thing I loved though was, Joseph Gordon-Levitt getting his share of airtime and really getting to show acting muscles - always excellent in just about everything....  I really do hope they make a NIGHTWING movie with him in it.....  that would be an added BONUS in the Batman Universe.....

THOR in 4D!!!!

LOL.... I already cannot stand 3D versions of movies - somehow they give me a headache... but 4D!!! Okay, okay a little exxageration on my part.... actually went to see the regular version of the movie @ the Warner Viewshow movie house - almost halfway into it, the movie theatre started shaking - for almost a minute.... and it happened during the part where the EVIL BROTHER was picking this box that caused a lightning tremors in the film... so we were all a bit confused for a sec - till we realized it was a real Earthquake, and at that point many of us got up and some were too shocked/scared to react.... but it was not that bad and there were no aftershocks so it was on with the entertainment.... The Movie house went all out and even had a THOR greeting movie goers on this, premiere weekend - albeit in a cheesier costume... hahahahahaha...
I LOVED THE FILM!!! It was fun, entertaining and a feast visually... the CGI Graphics were phenomenal... so it was almost SAD that the entire movie was not filmed in Thor's realm... Thank God, the present day storyline has Natalie Portman -she was/is always a feast for the eyes.... and no matter how cheesy her lines were at times - she delivers.... a TRUE ACADEMY AWARD WINNING ACTRESS! Do not really know much about Chris Hemsworth, who plays the God of Thunder - but he is pleasing to the eyes... and he embodies Thor, rather nicely.... just do not care much for how he delivers his lines.... One of those, Beautiful Hunk but please do not speak.... LOL! And the supporting cast were pretty strong, as well... in Thor's realm, as well as, modern Earth....The storyline is pretty good... am not familiar with his origins too much but if this is MARVEL produced then it should be pretty close to it... satisfying both in story telling as well as graphic detailings... it had some snappy lines - especially those given to Kat Dennings, who plays Natalie Portman's assistant... action scenes are GREAT - never enough when builing character backgrounds.... so we can only HOPE for a SEQUEL - for bigger fight scenes....

Henry Cavill is Superman!!!

First Ryan Reynolds is Green Lantern, then Chris Evans as Captain America, now comes news from The Tudors Site on Facebook that Henry Cavill, Brandon on The Tudors, will be donning the blue suit and red cape as SUPERMAN!!! Just read this today really!!! Just Too Cool, as he is my FAVE in The Tudors actually... I mean Jonathan who plays Henry is cool and hunky, too - but what a personality... but that's another story... Anyway, a cover story on Entertainment Weekly plus the INTERNET all abuzz about this casting coup... He follows the the great George Reeves, Christopher Reeve & the last one, Brandon Routh...

From what I hear he actually beat out a couple of people I really like, as well, for the role -- Matthew Goode (who's donned Superhero Tight suit in WATCHMEN, for the same director who will be lensing this installment of Superman); and Ian Somerhalder, who is HOT Damon of The Vampire Diaries. Either one of them would have sufficed for my TASTE =, too... but i think, Henry, will fill the suit much better... and if you have seen him in The Tudors, you would agree that he could bring much more depth to the role... So here's to the New Superman!!!
